reba donkey zumas rescue ranch

REBA

Formally known as Flopsy and Mopsy, the original plan for these two donkey jennies was simple: on April 22 2022, they would hitch a ride to Zuma’s alongside minis Jerry, Elaine, and Kramer from a Montana livestock auction to their new home in Colorado.

Along the way, Zuma’s learned that the intended role for the donkeys at their new home was as broodmares. After being offered the opportunity to purchase the donkeys, Zuma’s reached out to our rescue community with an emergency alert: raise $2100 in 48 hours and the donkeys could stay.

The community answered the call and blew us away. The rescue fee was raised in minutes and the donations just kept coming, securing the donkeys’ sanctuary at Zuma’s! It’s thanks to our amazing rescue community of volunteers, donors, sponsors, and staff that these souls are here to stay.

Reba stands out in her herd with her very dark coat. She is more reserved than Dolly, but will take her cues from her friend. If Dolly comes over to investigate you, there’s a good chance Reba will be close behind.
