Atticus is a 2010 Icelandic Horse and treasured herd member.

When a Washington breeder ran into financial trouble, he sent all 52 of his Icelandic Ponies (including Atticus) to a kill sale. Horse Connection Magazine reached out to Zuma’s for assistance with the rescue operation, which placed all 52 horses into homes throughout the United States. Atticus and his best buddy Rumi landed at Zuma’s.

For years, our instructors worked on building trust and a strong foundation of training with both, and it took a couple of years to gentle both of them for beginner riders. Rumi now lives happily at his forever home in Canon City, while Atticus lives at Zuma’s and continues to delight everyone with his fluffy coat and silly antics.
